Project Overview
A high-standard cold storage steel structure project tailored for Russia’s leading cold chain logistics enterprises strictly followed the GOST Russian national steel structure building standards throughout the process. Special structural optimizations were made for the extremely cold climate of Moscow (-35℃) and the freeze-thaw cycle environment. It achieved exclusive design for the cold chain scenario with features of insulation, airtightness, prevention of condensation, and high load-bearing capacity. The entire process, including factory prefabrication, maritime customs clearance, and on-site installation technical guidance, was provided in a closed-loop manner. The on-site main structure installation was completed in just 48 days, reducing the construction period by 70% compared to the local traditional construction methods.
Key highlights of the project
- The exclusive steel structure system for cold chain storage features PIR polyurethane high-insulation sandwich panels for the roof and walls. The steel structure nodes are specially designed for air tightness and dew prevention, fully meeting the requirements of multi-temperature zone storage ranging from -30℃ to +5℃.
- The large-span design without columns allows for a maximum span of 38 meters. The floor and ground are compatible with heavy-duty cold chain vertical shelves, and pre-drilled interfaces for automated cold chain equipment are provided to maximize the utilization of storage space.
- Special optimization for extremely cold environments uses high-toughness low-temperature-specific steel, with all components undergoing hot-dip galvanizing for corrosion protection. It is suitable for the extreme climate in Russia, including the extremely cold winters and large temperature differences in summer, with a service life exceeding 50 years.
